The world of esports keeps growing at a rather monstrous scale. There are more esports teams that are competing in the international stage than ever before thanks to the rise in competitions. Standing out from the crowd, here are 5 esports teams that are bound to make waves in 2023.

Team Liquid

We’re starting off our list with none other than Team Liquid. Based out of the Netherlands, Team Liquid competes at the highest level of esports. Its headquarters is currently in the United States. One seldom known fact is that Team Liquid actually started off as a StarCraft news site.

Over the years, Team Liquid has won numerous championships and tournaments in various esports titles. They include 4x League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) titles, a Dota 2 International championship, and several Counter-Strike: Global Offensive major championship titles. Just recently, the organization secured a top 3 finish at the Lima Major 2023.

Team Liquid has partnered up with some big companies such as Honda, Alienware, HyperX and SecretLab. Last month, they also announced a partnership with unikrn– an esports betting company.

Global Esports

Founded in 2018 hailing from India, Global Esports was formed to promote esports in India. India is a country little known in the gaming world and Global showed up to change that.

The organization is yet to win any notable international championship. They made their first appearance at the highest level earlier this year at the VCT Lock//In 2023. Although their performance was subpar, they reminded everyone that Asia still packs a punch in Valorant. They will be playing next at the VCT Pacific League 2023.

While Global Esports is still relatively new in the scene, there is no doubt they’ll among esports teams that will be making waves this year.

FaZe Clan

When we talk about esports organizations, one of the first ones to come to mind would definitely be FaZe Clan. Hosting players from around the world, the organization was founded in 2010. In it’s 13 years of existence, they have featured rosters in pretty much every competitive game out there. Since then, they have won 37 top tier esports tournaments all around the world.

FaZe Clan has more than 85 million followers across their social media platforms. They have partnered up with massive brands such as McDonald’s, Nissan and G-Fuel to name a few. In July of 2022, FaZe Clan became a publicly traded company.

Highly regarded as one of the most successful esports organizations of the world, Fnatic has it’s headquarters in London. Founded back in 2004 in the UK, Fnatic started off as a professional Counter-Strike team. Since then, the organization has branched out to include other well-known esports games like League of Legends, Dota 2, and Valorant. They have achieved great success over the years, winning multiple world championships for League of Legends and several Dota 2 Major Championships. Very recently, Fnatic won the VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo.

Very few esports organizations have made their mark in the esports world like G2 have. Formed in 2013, the organization has it’s headquarters in Berlin, Germany.

G2 has had remarkable success in esports, with its League of Legends team winning a number of European titles and competing in multiple World Championships. Its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad has also taken home multiple championships, such as the ESL Pro League Season 5 Finals and DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017. Along with major titles, they also have a reputation for content creation. G2 has rosters competing in games such as League Of Legends, Counter-Strike, Valorant and Apex Legends along with a few other competitive titles.
